Only One

Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky;

Hundreds of shells on the shore together;

Hundreds of birds that go singing by;

Hundreds of bees in the sunny weather.

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn;

Hundreds of lambs in the purple clover;

Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn;

But only one mother the wide world over.

 George Cooper (1820 - 1876)

Chỉ một mà thôi

Trên trời hàng trăm ngôi sao
Hàng trăm ṣ hến sóng xao tấp bờ
Hàng trăm chim bay líu lo
Hàng trăm ong tắm nắng hè vàng ươm
Hàng trăm sương đón rạng đông
Hàng trăm cừu thả cánh đồng cỏ non
Hàng trăm bướm bay chập chờn
Mẹ th́ chỉ một cho con trên đời
