your bedroom window, just
take a look ! (2002
December 23) TIP-TAP Tip-tap,
tip-tap, Rain
drops onto my rain-cap, My
dog gets wet all over, And
so do all the clovers. Then
the sun puts the rain to a stop, And
in the puddles I did a hop. But
I am sad for the rain to go, 'Cause
it makes the flowers grow, It
watered mum's seedling in the pot, I
love the rain a lot, lot, lot. (2002
December 23) Four
leaf clovers Four
leaf
clovers are lucky But
they are really rare If
you look really hard They
could grow in your backyard ! (2002
Dec 26) Year
2003 (Primary
School, Grade 4) A Poor Old Boy There
was a poor old boy He
lived just down the street He
begged for shelter And
he begged for things to eat He
never had a toy Or
any fun at all And
all that he did Was
walk and ... crawl He
was the only child He
had no mum or dad So
sometimes he stole food And
people called him bad He
drank from the big lake And
sometimes ate a “deer” But
people that are rich Only
teased, laughed and jeered But
now he’s gone away To
a great foster home And
I’m happy now To
know he’s not alone And
now to finish up My
lovely little song I
know he will grow up And
be big and strong. (Mid-2003,
Inspired from “The
Old French Song” by Tchaikovsky) Fairy of the Chestnut Tree I
live in the woods, Up
the chestnut tree. Children
stand around the tree, But
I’m so small they don’t see me. They
each throw a stone, And
catch a nut. But
some hit me, Or
make holes in my hut! And
poor little me, That
they can’t even see, Says
“Oh I wish they don’t bother me!” But
I think I will, Move
to the country until, These
children have eaten nuts to their will. (2003
July 18) Animals 1 There
was a dinosaur whose name was Harry, Who
asked for permission to marry . Elizabeth
was his bride, Whom
he married with pride, That
nice young dinosaur named Harry! 2 Once
I had a pig, On
Sundays it dances a jig I
couldn't find her a name, Even
when I played the "name game" So
I just called her Pig. (Mid
-2003) As I was walking down the street, It's name I do not know. I went into a shop, And bought a kimono. It had a floral pattern, With pigeons here and there. But shopping made me hungry, So I ate an enormous pear. Then I bought some hair clips, With lacing all around. And after I had paid for them, I
set off (homeward bound). (2003-9) |
